We have Magnolia trees in the South because of all the work they require, the wonderful fragrance that fills your yard makes it all worthwhile.

This Week

This might be a very short blog entry for me tonight. It's just going to be a way for me to keep in touch with myself and where I am and what I'm doing.

This week will be a short - only 3 day work week for me but I do have a lot that I would like to accomplish. In addition to the usual work of preparing and shipping proposals to our sales reps, I need to see the local Veterans Officer about completing an application for my Dad to get into the Veterans Healthcare system so that the VA will pay for him to visit the Life Enrichment Center at least two days a week. This LEC has really been good for him to get him out of the house and to be with other people at least a couple of days per week. I really notice a change in his disposition, outlook, alertness, and just his overall awareness of the world.

My Dad is 92 years old and physically is in better health than me, but he just never gets out of his house and he really needs the stimulation of being around others. I think the LEC is doing that for him.
